Our commitment to privacy
We recognise the importance of protecting your personal information. We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for our business activities and to handle that information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), where those laws apply to us.
What personal information do we collect?
Depending on how you interact with New Home Broker, we may collect information including:
- Contact information — full name, email address, telephone/mobile number, postal or residential address, state and postcode.
- Broker information — if you enquire about becoming a New Home Broker: employment information, previous sales or real estate experience, professional experience, business details, qualifications or licences where relevant, areas in which you wish to operate, and information relating to your application or onboarding.
- Buyer information — if you enquire about purchasing or investing in a new home: property preferences, preferred locations, budget range, property type, home requirements, investment requirements, general finance-related information you voluntarily provide, and preferred timeframe for purchasing. We do not require you to provide sensitive financial information unless it is reasonably necessary for a particular service and appropriately authorised.
- Academy information — if you register for New Home Broker Academy: name, contact details, registration information, course progress, training records, assessment or accreditation information, and communications relating to your training.
- Website information — when you use our website: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, website interactions, approximate geographic information, referring website, and date and time of visits.
How do we collect your information?
We may collect personal information directly from you, when you complete an online enquiry form, when you register for the Academy, when you apply to become a New Home Broker, when you request information about a property, when you book an appointment or consultation, by telephone, by email, through social media, through events, seminars or information sessions, through builder or business partners where appropriately authorised, through our website's cookies and analytics technologies, and when you otherwise voluntarily provide information to us.
We generally seek to collect personal information directly from the individual concerned, consistent with the requirements of APP 3, subject to applicable exceptions.
Why do we collect your information?
We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including:
- New Home Broker applications — to assess enquiries, contact prospective brokers, provide information about the New Home Broker opportunity, process applications, provide training and onboarding, manage broker relationships, and facilitate builder accreditation where applicable.
- Property enquiries — to respond to property enquiries, understand your property requirements, provide information about relevant new-home opportunities, connect you with relevant builders, developers or other service providers where appropriate, arrange inspections or introductions, and follow up on your enquiry.
- Academy — to process registrations, deliver training, manage accounts, monitor course participation, provide training communications, and manage accreditation or completion records.
- Marketing — where permitted by law, to provide information about new-home opportunities, new property developments, the Academy, broker opportunities, educational content, events and webinars, market information, news and updates. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Direct marketing
We may use personal information to send you direct marketing communications where permitted under applicable privacy and spam laws. Marketing communications may include email, SMS, telephone, social media communications, digital advertising and other electronic communications.
Where required, we will provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe or opt out. Australian privacy and spam requirements operate alongside one another, so our marketing practices are configured to comply with both applicable privacy obligations and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Who may we disclose your information to?
- Builders and developers — where relevant to your enquiry, we may provide information to participating builders or developers to assist with your property enquiry.
- New Home Brokers — where appropriate, an enquiry may be provided to a New Home Broker who can assist with your property requirements.
- Service providers — we may use third-party providers for website hosting, CRM systems, email marketing, SMS communications, online forms, payment processing, appointment scheduling, cloud storage, data analytics, IT services, cybersecurity and customer support.
- Professional advisers — where necessary, information may be provided to lawyers, accountants, professional advisers, insurers and compliance providers.
- Government and regulatory bodies — we may disclose information where required or authorised by Australian law, court order or regulatory requirement.
Third-party service providers
New Home Broker may use third-party technology providers to operate our website and business. These providers may process or store personal information on our behalf. Examples may include website hosting providers, CRM platforms, Google services, Meta/Facebook services, email marketing platforms, SMS platforms, online booking systems, cloud storage providers, payment providers and analytics providers.
We seek to use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to ensure that information is handled appropriately. Some third-party providers may operate outside Australia. Where personal information is disclosed overseas, applicable requirements relating to overseas disclosures (APP 8) will be considered.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies. Cookies may help us operate our website, remember preferences, understand website usage, measure advertising effectiveness, improve website performance, understand how visitors interact with our website and provide relevant advertising.
We may use services such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel or similar technologies, depending on the technology implemented on our website. You can generally adjust your browser settings to control cookies.
Social media and advertising
Our website may contain links to or integrations with third-party platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and other social media services. If you interact with those platforms, their own privacy policies may apply.
We may also use advertising and remarketing technologies to promote New Home Broker, the Academy or property opportunities to people who have interacted with our website.
Artificial intelligence and automated technologies
New Home Broker may use artificial intelligence or automated technologies to assist with activities such as content creation, customer service, website functionality, lead management, marketing, data analysis, business administration, and training and educational services.
We will seek to use AI tools responsibly and will take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessarily providing personal or sensitive information to AI systems. The OAIC's current guidance specifically recognises personal information provided to an AI chatbot or agent as a form of collection and recommends data minimisation when collecting personal information.
Where automated technologies are used in ways that may have significant effects on individuals, additional Australian privacy requirements may apply. From 10 December 2026, APP 1 includes additional privacy-policy requirements for certain computer-program decision-making involving personal information.
How we store and protect personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, unauthorised modification and unauthorised disclosure.
Security measures may include password protection, access controls, secure cloud systems, encryption where appropriate, multi-factor authentication, staff access controls, security monitoring and regular system reviews. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
How long do we keep personal information?
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or where retention is required or permitted by law. When information is no longer required, we may securely destroy, delete or de-identify it.

You may request access to personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to correct information that you believe is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading. Requests can be made by contacting the Privacy Officer at info@newhomebroker.com.au.
